Cottage DesignersPosted by decorpro at October 22. 2012
I have always been a huge fan of cottage design. In actual fact, by that I mean cottage “inventions”. These inventions typically spawn from a few uncles getting together over beers, trying to figure out how to make the cottage experience even MORE enjoyable. I have heard my share of intoxicated idea generating sessions, ranging from building a submarine out of a propane tanks, to home made hot-tubs using the fire pit. One magazine that most cottagers already know about is Cottage Life.
Even more entertaining, this magazine also features an inventions section: http://cottagelife.com/diy/inventions dedicated to making the cottage even less stressful.
We at Decorpro, decided to steel this idea of cottage relaxation and see what we could come up with. The result was a versatile fireburner/planter that, although it doesn’t have a practical application like the cottage life inventions, can be used to make the cottage experience even more enjoyable.
Four Cottage designed by Corbee Dutchburn as it was rightly named, came into existence, birthed from our love of the cottage. This product is designed to provide the cottage fire ambiance, that we all so desperately search for when escaping the city. It can be used to light a walkway, hold candles or plants, or simply act as a great center piece. This design can be used in conjunction with our Four Base, to provide an almost “mobile” fire place, that can be used anywhere (indoors/outdoor).
The Four Cottage is certainly a mild version of what I would consider a true “cottage invention” but still holds up. Its multi-functionality and the nostalgic cottage presence it portrays would make any cottage lover want one.
