We are thinking of using Scherr's cabinets, and having the fronts custom made locally. Doe anyone have any experience with them? Their prices are on par with Ikea, but they have more options and one can customize every cabinet.
We're going for a simple, flat panel, full overlay style door, in white matt lacquer...
We have also thought about doing the ikea box, with custom fronts, but we are finding that we have a need for custom boxes that don't fit Ikea's standards.
Thanks!
You may want to search over at ikeafans.com -- there are several people there that have used Scherr's. I believe some of them have had Scherr's build one or two custom boxes to coordinate with standard IKEA boxes elsewhere in the kitchen.
Thanks -- it seems that there were two points made.
1 - Sherr's can custom make a box if needed
2 - Sherr's is so used to making custom fronts for IKEA cabinets that they already have IKEA's default cabinet hardware hole placement so that they can do any necessary pre-drilling.
Lastly, it seems that Sherr's finishes and styles are much more flexible. They seem to offer an endless range. I think we'll have to order some samples to ensure the quality.
Their white doors or cabinet doors are so pretty, brings a classy country house design.
