What is your difinition of "mid level interior fitout"?  Chris

Well the best way to get a feel for what that means is to look at a comparably priced home from a merchant builder. So if you were to look at the fit out of a home costing about 150$/sqft - use some insight to take the land out of the equation - then the finishes you see there would probably be similar. I'd find that houses in this range in my market might have wood floors in the living and dining room, tile in the kitchen, carpet elsewhere, painted drywall most everywhere, wood kitchen cabinets, probably not stone or solid surface countertops.

Do you have a feel for it now?

Greg,

I'm trying to get some idea of how steel versus wood construction compare. I appreciate the info you've provided, and realize that it is hard to give estimates without design specifications, but could you give some me some cost comparisons on a specific design, say Rocio Romero's LV house?

Thanks.

Alan
