Help Save This Modern Country Retreat

Posted by Craig Mayer at June 21. 2005

I have had this great modern home listed in Parker for several months and we are having difficulty finding Buyers who will appreciate its clean modern design rather than scrape it off for some tacky exurban McMansion. I even had one potential buyer show up with a sketch she had made on a photograph of the house showing how she would add a gabled roof and dormers!

It really is a special property. The home is located on 3 acres of poderosa pines just east of Parker. The 3078 sq ft home has 5+ bedrooms, 3 baths, and features open beam cielings, glass walls with mountain views, eat-in kitchen, main-level master suite, and 2 fireplaces. It is priced at $489,900 and is the least expensive property currently on the market in the area. The home is in good condition but needs some updating - it could easily become a Dwell magazine showcase for the right buyer!

Please pass on to any friends who might be interested in becoming modernist homesteaders in Douglas County
