Container Addition

Posted by Ken Hudson at April 20. 2005

Hello All

I live in Denver, CO in a residental area zoned R-1, if that means anything to you. The idea is to put two or three 8'x20' containers of the back of the house to make one great room and deck that would flow out of the current kitchen. I have a 14' x 30' pad that is currently the patio. I will have to support the portions of the containers that hang over the 14' pad. I have been told by the city that I cannot have a two story attachement but I still investigating what that means. I have purchased one container and I'm in negotations about a second and third.

My idea is to increase the living space for my wife and two kids at a low cost. I seen some off your designs and they look great. I was think of three side by side or an H or U shape. I was also thinking of three side by side with the middle container resting on top of the corner fittings of the two out side containers. A modified A-Frame if you will. Please chime in if you have suggestions or would be interested in working on this project.
