Well, if Lawrence is looking in Cherry Hill, then why don't we pick a location on the NJ side of the bridge?
Not that NJ is the only place we've looked... it just seems you get more land per buck than in the areas in/around Philly on the PA side...
Ok - Let me suggest a place and time. No strong preference but if we don't propose something we'll never get together.
How about the Tuesday the 26th or Wednesday the 27th of April.
Location: There are two big Barnes Nobles one on Rt 70, one at East Gate off Rt 38. There is Starbucks in Haddonfield. Less corporate there is the Three Beans Coffee Shop in Haddonfield (140 North Haddon Ave, Haddonfield, NJ (856) 354-222), in Collingswood there is the Grooveground (647 Haddon Ave Collingswood, NJ 08108-3723 (856) 869-9800 www.grooveground.com/)
I think the Grooveground looks cool too - so why don't we just say thats the place. Collingswood has been getting its cool up for a few years so we might as well partake. Lets pick the night and I'll call them to see if there is anything going on that night which would prevent us from hearing one another speak!
And we need to pick a time!
I'll make the time to meet, so whatever is good for you guys is good for me.
Well then I'll just pick a date and lets promote it.

7 days and counting
5 days and counting. I'm going to see some of you there, right?
The room went quiet since we declared a date and time...?
Let me know you are coming!
Engineering: What it takes to Philly-ize these modular homes (specific items and likely cost implications like snow load, incremental window glazing, incremental sound insulation (being near 76 or 202!)Any other suggestions?
Customization: e.g., practical discussion of going to three bedrooms for a moderate-sized family; or re-architecting kitchen traffic pattern (e.g., LVL home is fascinating, but kitchen patterns force food preparer to face away from family or guests, unlike Resolution:4 homes); two car garage
Regulatory: Specific zoninng/building issues in suburban Philly
Logistics: what homes are available this far east and south; if not available today, when?
Land acquisition: practical discussion of alternatives (tear down, unimproved lot, hiving off a parcel from an existing homeowner's plot, etc.) ...
Contractors: specific recommendations; references; lessons learned from contractors
How about how to build a cost effective prefab house here in Philadelphia? What companies to use for manufacturing prefab walls? Wheres the best place to get new materials?
I am really looking forward to meeting everyone.
I don't know the answers to all those questions - but we can talk about these issues. I know whats out there prefab wise as well as anybody that reads Fabprefab so we can go over them if you want.
I wonder if the Grooveground has wifi access?
That was a great meeting - 2 1/2 hours flew by. Thanks for coming Ralph, Lawrence, Kendra, and Lucia. We talked about all manner of prefabs, looked over the 6040 House stuff and talked IBUs (containers for the uninitiated). Lots of fun. The Grooveground proved sparse if not accomodating. Many other funky restaurants in Collingswood though. There was a mexican place called Tortilla Press which looked like it could be a good site. Saw some lurkers like us sitting in there when I was heading out.
We'll have to do it again.
