HI, I am new to this post and I have just purchased a 1955 home here in Fort Worth in the Ridglea Hills neighborhood that was established in the 1950's. There is not alot of modern architecture here in cowtown and I was hoping to find someone else who might have interest and or knowledge.
Anyway,we are going to try to restore the house to near the orginal. ie strip the teak cabinets and paneling of white paint, strip the brick fireplace of white paint, replace carpet with cork...

If anyone has any knowledge about modern architecture here I would like to hear about it.

I recently purchased a 1950's home in westside Fort Worth too. Our home needs quite a bit of remodeling as well. We're just in the beginning stages. We're very excited about remodeling, though we're taking a different approach. Rather than restoring it to original condition we're thinking of making quite a few changes- blowing out some walls, moving rooms around to make it more open. I also have a friend that purchased a 50s home in Ridglea. She's just about finished remodeling, but I haven't seen her home yet.
