I'm a homebuilder in the Lakewood/East Dallas area and just built my own contemporary home near White Rock Lake(on Santa Barbara). If you stick frame, use concrete floors, and choose your windows, exterior facade, etc... wisely, you can meet your budget. I'm also assuming that you act as your own general contractor. If you are not wanting to do the contracting, let me know and I can introduce you to a couple friends who build in your neck of the woods.

Btw, the house is the easy part, wait till you buy the european furniture!
