I just read that EZ's restaurant at NW highway and Hillcrest is gone to make room for a convenience store. I am so dissappointed. It was the most over-the-top (Googie style) mid-century modern building in Dallas. Anyone else going to miss the place? Anyone sure that it is gone?
Yeah, fortunately I knew it was being torn down and went and had a last meal of Rosemary chicken and a chocolate shake. The food was good too!
A friend of mine worked in the building behind EZ's (which is being torn down as well) and was told that 7-11 will be relocating to where EZ's was and Hillcrest will be widened. Apparently that 7-11 has the highest gas sales in North Texas or something that effect.
I will really miss EZ's. There was a late effort to stop the demo:
