roofing contractor recommendation

Posted by Gianna Glaesmann at July 05. 2006

Help - I have a mid-50's home (MCM)...low sling, flat roof. I wonder if anyone has any recommendations for a roofing contractor with this type of experience. We have had a couple of roofers out but no one seems to want to do this type of roof work.

Thank you,
Gianna

I recently re-roofed my 50's house, with a hip roof with pitch of about 12 degrees. They used an adhesive underlayment in the valleys to assure water tightness.

How flat is yours? Do you know the pitch?

Just went up to our soggy roof.... looks like the pitch is at best 1:6 - VERY flat. Originally it was a mopped, rolled roof (hot tar). It's been repaired over the years with roll down roofing....but probably never taken all the way down to the plywood. Water no longer rolls off the roof - just collects in areas.
Any suggestions are great!
