MCM on the Market - Preston/Forest area

Posted by Guicho Pons at January 19. 2006

Hi,

We have recently put our house on the market....here is a link to the listing, which has pictures and soon a virtual tour.

MLS 10454964

We are planning on moving into something smaller (most likely a modern townhouse in uptown or Oaklawn....but don't worry, it won't be a Cityhome...we have our eye on a couple of pieces of property by Lionel Morrison and Bud Oglesby!) when we sell this one, so please feel free to give comments and suggestions on our house, and feel free to ask questions. We have put a lot of time and care into this house, and would love to see it go to someone who appreciates MCM architecture.....and huge and beautiful trees surrounding the house.

Update:

The virtual tour is now online. Also, we received a suggestion from a realtor....you should paint your brick......arrrgghhhh are there any realtors in Dallas who appreciate MCM??? maybe we should add gables, and a veranda....oh oh and while we are at it, some corinthian columns and a loggia...I mean, every other new McMansion has one!

That is a great looking house. I especially like the landscaping in front.

Don't paint it!

I would have thought David Griffin realtors would appreciate this style without trying to make it look like a McMansion.

It's a MCM, not a MCM-ansion!

Don't worry, it won't get painted, not under my watch.

I have found David Griffin to be one of the best realtor(company) here in Dallas for modernists. They even have a menu on their web site that sorts their listing by architectural design, modern being one of them. They also seem to represent some of the larger projects, like Urban Reserve and Kessler Woods...so it seems like they have a pretty good idea of what's out there.

The landscape was done by David Hocker while he was working at Rolston. I highly recommend him!
