Update: Eastside Lofts

Posted by Tom Granese at March 01. 2007

Hello everyone,

I posted a while ago in this forum about our project, Eastside Lofts.  This is a modern townhome project in East Dallas near Deep Ellum with fantastic views of downtown.  You can view a slideshow on the website to see what they look like although the photos hardly do justice to the details and spaciousness.  They are just over 2300 sq. ft. but it may be hard to see that in the photos.

The 3 remaining units are listed through David Griffin & Co at $380,000. (Approx. $163/sf)  We think it is a great value in an area that is already seeing some exciting new development.  If you are interested, I can elaborate on that.

Look forward to any comments.  Although, I know this is a tough crowd! :)

Kind regards,

Tom Granese

Thanks!  I am very impressed with your project.  Great design and finish selections.  Looks like they are doing very well.  Congrats!

The stair idea you did was cool. What are the treads made from - solid oak or are they hollow? I would think if they are solid they would weigh a ton.

The treads are made from architectural grade glulam beams 12" x 3.5" and, yes, they do weigh a ton.  They are VERY solid to walk on though.  The stair openings were engineered to support quite a lot of weight as a result of the design.

Oh OK - that makes sense. Great idea!
