looking for recommendations for concrete resurfacing

Posted by flyawayhair at August 05. 2007

Does anyone have any recommendations for someone to do concrete resurfacing in a converted garage? The existing floor is washed concrete. We've had several contractors out already and none of them are on board with plain polished concrete. They are all pushing fake stamped look and I don't feel comfortable moving forward with someone that doesn't get it. Maybe I am not asking for the right product?

We are also considering covering the old concrete with wood but  want to explore the option of concrete.

Thanks.

I've heard good things about this company:  http://www.firsttexasprecast.com/concrete_repair.htm

They did a custom sink for a friend of a friend but it looks like they do concrete repair work as well.  Good luck.

My wife and I are planning to pull up some old flooring and acid staining the concrete.  Some sites that might be of interest to you:

www.protechdesigns.com

www.texasdecorativeconcrete.com

www.solcrete.com

I haven't contacted any of these yet, but based on the information on their websites I think they might be good places to start looking.  Prices for acid staining are between $3-4/SF generally.

Enjoy.
