Lampton House - Houston, TX

Posted by Wesley Yuan at January 07. 2010

I have begun development of a new mid-centry inspired home in Houston, Texas.  The foundation has been poured and framing started.  It is really starting to take shape.  Let me know your thoughts, recommendations, etc.  Anything will be helpful for this and my next development.

Follow along wtih the blog at http://lamptonhouse.blogspot.com

Thanks!

Design looks great, not sure about the brick type/color. I would go with a more linear look to the brick and a different color. Can't wait to see pictures of the finished project.

The rendering was done prior to us finalizing the brick type/color.  The actual brick we are using is the same as from the Akers residence in the Kessler Woods Development up in Dallas.  Here are some pics on the brick http://lamptonhouseselections.blogspot.com/2009/09/brick-inspiration-akers-residence.html

I think it works on the Kesler house because of the natural stained wood that compliments it. I am not sure that the cream color is as successful with the grey exterior portions as shown on the rendering. Two colors that never seem to work well together are cool greys and warm creams. But this is all just my first thoughts after seeing the rendering, the actual application might work really well, just my two cents.
