to all of you out there trying to see some more examples of modern houses around austin. try next year the aia home tour that is open to the public first weekend in october. that was last weekend. sorry I just found this forum website. I wish I knew before.
on the other hand, would somebody know of an architect/builder who could help me with a housing project with modern in it. I would like to invest somewhere between $150 k and $200k. lot included, does it sound right?

Epolendo,

You MAY have a hard time finding a lot in central Austin that would leave you enough money to actually build within your stated budget. There are however lots to be had further out west (near the lake) that would be inexpensive enough for you to get something built for your stated budget. It all depends where you want to live, and what you are willing to give up to live there. Once you track down some areas that interest you, I'd be happy to help you with your project. You can see some of my work at the link in my signature.

Regards,
Mark Meyer
