My husband and I are design/builders, just relocated from Atlanta to Lake Glenville, NC, which is near the Cashiers/Highlands/Lake Toxaway area. We are originally West Coasters (Seattle/Bay Area), and interested in building an affordable, modern development in the area. I would like to get some feedback in order to judge the market.

Suggested topics include:
1. Price range? It is easy to spend at least $1 million uphere, we would like to build something that comes in around $500k.
2. Design: how modern? How about incorporating some rustic elements, such as a timberframe shell, into the design? Corrugated metal?
3. What types of property? Wooded? Views?
4. Prefab?

Any suggestions/comments greatly appreciated!
