Emma Underhill is director and curator ofUP Projects, an organization that specialises in producing arts projects and events outside of traditional gallery and museum spaces. In 2008 Emma helped realize Annika Eriksson's "Smallest Cinema in the World", a tiny auditorium housed in a specially constructed caravan. More recently, she oversaw Public Works Canal Club, a floating structure that hosted a number of public events during the Liverpool Biennial.
Julia Dennis is an artist, curator and project developer. In 2007, as part of "Sculpting the Suburban Landscape" exhibition at MoDA, her project "The Untold" deployed a two berth caravan as a sculptural retreat; a place to remember and re-invent. Julia is compiling a collection of caravan stories and photos to document this project.
The Nomadic Architecture Series is curated by Alan Thompson, chairman at Art & Architecture, architect, philosopher, advisor at CABE (Commission of Architecture & the Built Environment), teacher and founder of 3DWG.
Created in 1983, Art & Architecture (A&A) promotes constructive collaboration between architects and artists, and aims to help create a more inspirational environment, through encouraging the production of better public space. A&A was influential in campaiging for "percentage for art" legislation in the UK, and arranges regular events for its 3,000 subscribers.
