This year’s first annual classic modern home tour will feature very unique homes in Montgomery County from Glenside to Abington. A guided tour of these private residences offers the exceptional opportunity to personally view the interiors of significant mid-century modern interiors. Walls of glass creating an indoor outdoor connection and simplicity of design are characteristics of these homes from the 1950’s and 1960’s. The homes incorporate a very linear design with flat roofs and vistas into their surroundings. A driving map will also be supplied for additional homes in the area that can be viewed as you drive but will not be open. The homes on the tour will be open from 12pm until 4pm. Some of the finest examples of residential architecture by Frank Weise, Irwin Stein, Alan Berkowitz, Irvin Maitin and Thomas Mangan are included. Limited space is available, please contact Craig@ModernHomesPhiladelphia.com to reserve tickets. Profits of the $25.00 admission fee will be donated to the Architectural Archives of The University of Pennsylvania. Please contact Craig if you have any interest in helping out with the tour. The tour will travel from Springfield Township through homes along the Church Road area and up through Abington/ Huntingdon Valley. Below are photographs of some of the homes that are included on the tour.
