EcoSteel®
Editorial Rating:
LiveModern is proud to represent EcoSteel® Building Systems. EcoSteel specializes in pre-fabricated steel building systems—all modern and green in design, low in cost to build and maintain, and available throughout North America now.
EcoSteel® develops pre-engineered custom building solutions for multi-family and custom home projects. Once you have design plans from your architect, we can work with you to create the best solution. If you don't have an architect, we can refer you to a partner architect that is familiar with our building system.
EcoSteel building packages are complete steel shell packages,
ready for your interior customization. The pre-engineered and
pre-fabricated EcoSteel building package includes a complete insulated steel building, complete with exterior doors, windows and trim.
EcoSteel's program is a leading force in steel prefab
construction. EcoSteel leverages an existing manufacturing network of
13 primary shipping points across the U.S. The pre-engineered and
panelized steel systems are easily built by a commercial contractor.
All of the steel components of an EcoSteel building package are pre-cut,
pre-drilled, and are clearly labeled which virtually eliminates
mistakes and confusion typically associated with wood homebuilders
venturing into steel construction. To save you even more construction time, EcoSteel can also erect your building.
We utilize the most advanced 3D modeling technology available to compliment our specialized building process. Our unique approach ensures a level of quality and accuracy that is unmatched in the building systems industry.
Multi-Family Solutions
When you’re building a multi-unit or multi-story building, steel is the clear choice for maximum safety against fire hazards, extreme weather conditions and earthquakes. Our panelized prefab systems are also perfect for “infill” projects where the necessary staging of crew, equipment and material deliveries is limited.

Multi-Family Features and Benefits
- Fast to build, energy efficient construction technology
- Eco-friendly recyclable, renewable building materials
- The design/engineering/build process is integrated to eliminate construction mistakes
- Construction material waste is drastically reduced
- Superior structural strength, maintenance-free exterior panels
- Virtually eliminates toxic mold, termites and fire hazards
EcoSteel builds multi-family solutions as small as six units.
Custom Homes
EcoSteel specializes in custom modern designs that embrace the use of steel as an architectural element. Our all steel pre-engineered homes are designed by the nations' leading architects in modern design and green building. If you already have an architectural plan, we can build your existing design, and modify your plans to fit within the EcoSteel Building System.

Custom Home Features and Benefits
- Build with energy efficient, renewable construction materials.
- Design flexibility for both your interior and exterior.
- Drastically reduce project completion times.
- Honest, contemporary design utilizes modern construction technology.
EcoSteel single-family custom homes generally start at 2,000 sf, but can be smaller for housing developments.
Partner Architects
EcoSteel Building Systems are designed by some of the leading architects in the modern prefabricated building movement. EcoSteel partner architects can help you customize an existing plan for your particular needs and lifestyle, or offer a one-of-a-kind design that leverages the clear advantages of steel construction.
LiveModern features work by EcoSteel Partner Architects:

The EcoSteel Building System
EcoSteel's construction technology is based on a patent-pending building system with heavy i-beam frames and insulated steel roof and wall panels. We utilize proprietary 3D design technology that includes "intelligent modeling" and direct output fabrication capabilities for automated production. The EcoSteel Building System is superior in every practical way to traditional construction methods and materials.
Anyone who is interested in how a modern and green home is built will want to explore the EcoSteel Building System.
The EcoSteel Process
EcoSteel has over a decade of experience providing complex, pre-engineered building solutions. We are seasoned professionals committed to delivering construction methods that are environmentally responsible.
Typically our team members are diverse in construction/engineering experience. We offer a unique mix of AutoCAD® experts and proven structural engineers that are combined with experienced steel erectors. This robust mix of project knowledge provides creative and efficient solutions for our customers.
Our project managers will assist you in expediting your build process through initial design to final permit approval. Once the materials are ordered and an erection schedule is set, we offer project management assistance through the final phases of construction.
- Step 1: Design—It’s just you, EcoSteel and your architect (we can even help you find one). Together we create working drawings based on the foundation of your choice.
- Step 2: Materials—We confirm a date of foundation completion and order the appropriate EcoSteel materials.
- Step 3: Structure—The erection crews arrive when your building materials arrive. The steel erectors will handle the assembly of your project through shell completion.
- Step 4: Exterior Doors and Windows—We install Low-E energy-efficient exterior doors and windows.
- Step 5: Exterior Walls and Roof—We complete your exterior shell by installing panelized, insulated walls and your roof.
- Step 6: Interior Wall Framing, Stairs and Railings—We frame all interior walls with light-gauge metal studs and install the interior stairs and railings, if applicable.
- Step 7: Shell Completion—We supervise the completion of work and all relevant structural inspections. You have a sealed, insulated, dried-in shell with a finished exterior. All interior walls are framed and accessible to sub-contractors. Your new building is structurally sound, weatherproof, lockable and secure.
- Step 8: Finish Work—Now you can arrange sub-contractors to finish the interior according to your style preferences.
