Laurent HouseAs time ticks down towards the planned auction of the Kenneth Laurent house on December 15, 2011, two recent items in the news will be of interest to those of us interested in the outcome of this story. The first item is an article on the Rockford Register Star website in which the original owners share their memories of their Frank Lloyd Wright home and details of how to help save it. The second item is from mystate.com in which it is reported that the Rockford City Council passed a $75,000 grant to help purchase the Laurent House, with the state agreeing to contribute with a $500,000 match pledge. This is interesting news and a glimmer of hope that the home can be secured and kept intact.
