WVS 1960's3I recently heard from Lucinda Mack, who is on the Board of Directors of the Wyoming Valley School Cultural Arts Center, which is a non-profit that is tasked with saving and restoring the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Wyoming Valley School building in Spring Green, WI.

Lucinda thought PrairieMod readers would be interested to know about this endeavor, as well as the upcoming Spring Opening of the building this next Sunday, April 29, from noon to 4 p.m. There are not many times that the building is open to the public, so this might be a good chance for those who are interested in Wright designs to get to see it as well as bring the whole family for a fun day in the country. Read more details after the jump...

As stated in a recent press release:

Here’s a chance for the public to view a beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright designed elementary school near Taliesin in Wyoming Valley. Located 6 miles south of Spring Green and 1 2miles north of Dodgeville, Wisconsin on Highway 23. The School is now a Cultural Arts Center, offering arts and cultural workshops, performances, lectures and exhibits.  It is not open to the public on any regular basis and depends on donations and grants to restore the building and offer public programs.

The two 1960's photos are from the archives of the Wyoming Valley School, possibly from Bob Graves (former apprentice of FLLW), though who actually took the photos is a mystery to us.

The photo of the 2011 Spring Opening is credited to Mary Lloyd-Jones
