Here's a clever DIY hook idea from German design studio Snug, using an unexpected material—wood children's blocks. Snug , a Hannover-based design studio founded by interior designer Kerstin Reilmann and architect Berit Lüdecke, recently participated in a contest called HelloGoodbye , arranged by Das rote Paket (a German retail and online shop). The theme was to create a "ready-made design" for the entrance or hallway. Snug's contribution: DIY wall hooks made from wooden toy blocks. Here is how you can recreate the hooks, which takes less than an hour to complete—my kind of DIY project. Above: You will need a set of wooden Toy Blocks ($15.95 via Amazon), a drill, screws, paint, and masking tape, which can all be found at your local hardware store. Above: Leave the blocks in natural wood or paint in a preferred color. Drill a hole into the back of the block, insert the screw, and attach to the wall. Above: A closeup of the surprisingly sophisticated-looking hallway block system. Looking for similar projects? Sift through 11 more DIY Ideas for Children's Rooms in our archive.
