String lights are most often associated with holiday decor and year-round outdoor festive lighting; here's another use: as over-the-sink lighting (spotted in the bathrooms at Clos du Lethe , an artfully restored inn located in Languedoc-Roussillon in France). Above: Recreate this look using simple string lights and hooks mounted on the ceiling. Above: The Bethlehem Lighting Indoor/Outdoor Miniature 50-Light Set can withstand the dampness of a bathroom; $10.40 at Amazon. If you don't have a convenient outlet, consider LED Battery Operated String Lights (which are three times brighter).
