John Morris, Publisher of Goodnight, Raleigh! has undertaken the effort to rally preservation-minded people around saving the North Carolina State University bookstore, designed by local modern architect Milton Small. Small studied under Mies van der Rohe and is considered by many to the the foremost authority on the international style in the south. This amazing building, with its zig-zag canopies and walls of glass is in danger of being demolished to make way for "a green space." But the effort to save it is gaining momentum.
