Japanese architect Junya Ishigami has just been announced as the winner of the Port of Kinmen Passenger Service Center Competition. Titled “Landscape as a Monument,” the winning design comprises a lush, man-made mountain range that calls attention to the natural landscape of the Taiwanese island of Kinmen. Cloaked beneath an undulating 1,640 foot long park, the multifunctional center will act as an economic catalyst for the region and a symbol of sustainability.
