Win a Saint James Meridien Striped Sailor Shirt
Average Rating: ( 0 votes)
The classic striped French sailor shirt, or marinière, originated in Brittany as the uniform of choice for the region's fishermen and maritime workers; when Coco Chanel began wearing the shirt in the early 1900s (paired with billowing trousers), its position in fashion history was secured. We thought we'd revisit the fashion classic this week (as part of the "The French Connection" issue) and invite readers to share photos of themselves decked out in Breton stripes. Go to Remodelista's Facebook Page for details; the entry with the most "likes" (by 5pm Sunday, February 12) wins a Saint James' striped Meridien Shirt in the color and size of their choice (value $95).
