An Alaska senator recently introduced legislation to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas drilling. 37 scientists responded the next day with a letter detailing why drilling in the Arctic would be so harmful. The scientists, which included several former officials from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, the United States Geological Survey, and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, oppose oil and gas exploration and development as "such activity would be incompatible...
