Architecture as magical realism: Guilherme Torres' kitchen in Sao Paolo, Brazil (first spotted on Arch Daily ). We haven't seen this before, a pristine white box opening onto a tree-filled atrium, with a rustic, paint-spattered work table as kitchen island. Above: In Torres' kitchen, a reclaimed table serves as a central workspace. Above: An orange rubber floor contrasts with a polished concrete floor. Above: A stainless cooktop set into the rustic work table; an antidote to the suburban island. Above: A seductive mix of materials embodies the (much discussed) rough luxe spirit.
