This sustainable home was designed by DRPILLA, an architectural firm from New York. The design took a deep consideration for  site sustainability, water efficiency and energy-efficient construction. It is the first LEED gold certificated house in Sag Harbor region.

The eco construction is completed with several sustainable features and green architecture concepts. Thanks to its flat rooftop, 10 kW photovoltaic panels can be attached there as sustainable energy source. Solar energy is also used for water heating system, for pool or domestic uses. The flat roof also can hide the equipment attached there.

Another feature for this sustainable building is Argon filled double-pane windows with a low-e coating. This type of window was chosen to minimize the heat losses, also to protect the house from excessive solar heat gain. Sustainable materials were become important consideration, especially the use of wooden materials for several parts of the house, by involving local wood-workers. Reclaimed cypress materials were used as siding, and up to 75% of demolition and construction debris were reused, recycled.

By all of its features, this green architecture house is claimed 44% more efficient than the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) standards for a conventional home of the same size and demands. This modern designed building may achieve LEED gold certification.
