There is not much time remaining for someone to save the John S. Van Bergen-designed James Irving residence (1928), a Prairie School gem in Wilmette, IL. As chicagobusiness.com reports, the developer that currently owns it has given it only a few weeks on the market to sell before he says it will be torn down to make way for something new (and likely much less inspired).
