Picture 7 Architect and long-time Oak Park Wright organization volunteer, Jack Lesniak presents the inaugural event in the Lyman and Anna Shepard Enrichment Series: The Way We Were: A Pre-Restoration Virtual Tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Home & Studio on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 6:30pm. More details after the jump...

Co-sponsored by the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust and Unity Temple Restoration Foundation, the presentation will be a virtual tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Home & Studio as it appeared in 1974, prior to the restoration that returned it to its 1909 glory. As described in UTRF's press release:

"With photographs and blueprints, Jack takes us back to a time when Wright's Oak Park home and studio was divided into seven separate apartments, a configuration Wright's son Lloyd humorously called 'The Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Apartments.' The building had gone through a number of major remodelings, most notably by Wright's own hand in 1911, 1925 and 1956. Jack will allow us to experience the property as it was before the restoration was completed.

Jack Lesniak's friendship with Lyman and Anna Shepard, and his long-tenure as a respected volunteer leader at the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust and Unity Temple Restoration Foundation, and his career as an architect makes him ideally suited to inaugurate the Shepard Enrichment Series."

Should be a fantastic event! Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased here.
