A sustainable architecture building has been designed by Comfort Architecten. It is a modern house for a family lives in Toblach, Italia. The green building architecture was formed by staggered volumes that surrounds the central courtyard. The ground floor covers the entrance area, a work room, and a living space that faces the atrium. A wide staircase connects this floor to the floors above that house the kitchen, dining area, and bedrooms. A small apartment is also located in this level, can be accessed from external staircase. The master bedroom completed with an open bathroom and dressing room are located in the top level. Fitness and wellness area is located in the basement.

The staggered construction applied in this sustainable design encourages the natural day lighting to the house, even to the basement part, thanks to the use of large floor-to-ceiling glass windows / walls.

The eco construction of this sustainable house was formed by a hybrid system of concrete and various wooden materials. The concrete was used for the basement and part of the first ceiling, while the rest of them was constructed using wooden materials. For good insulation, fully insulated XLAM wood components were used for the exterior and interior, also the ceilings. To maintain the good air circulation, control ventilation system is used. To provide energy, alternative energy source is provided by a photovoltaic system. By all of these sustainable features, this house can achieve good energy efficiency.
