The original prototype of the UFO-like house “Futuro,” designed in 1968 by the Finnish architect Matti Suuronen has been acquired by the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and is on display for the first time in an exhibit about the “search for the perfect form.” Futuro was revolutionary for its time: fully demountable, made from lightweight polyester and suitable for serial production. Over the decades, it has become an architectural icon– dozens of Futuro inspired works have spread around the world.
