Only one obstacle stands between me and patterned, inlaid Moroccan tile: its high price. Here's a clever solution. Above: In the garden, you can achieve the effect of an intricate inlaid pattern by using a combination of lower-cost materials: 12- x 12-inch stone pavers accented by a border of 3- x 3-inch field tiles. Above: Solid color encaustic tiles from KJ Patterson are weather resistant, with a high fire stoneware body, and come in 22 colors; a 3- x 3-inch tile is $7, from Filmore Clark . Above: For a similar look, consider KJ Patterson's Navy , Rust , Taupe , and Cobalt tiles. Image via Catalfamo. Above: A 12- by 12-inch Honed Carrara Marble Paver by Daltile is $12 from Catalfamo.
