Shopper's Diary: Germain in Great Barrington, Massachusetts
Average Rating: ( 0 votes)
Great Barrington, Massachusetts, is one of those places that urbanites like to escape to; that said, the Berkshire town has a couple of stores that would be equally at home in NYC, Germain being one of them. Owned by interior designer Elena Letteron, who also owns Metropolitain , a source for French style furnishings and antiques, Germain is a much more contemporary space. Polished concrete floors and exposed wooden beams create a loftlike feel and provide the backdrop for a collection of furnishings and housewares, in the mode of "vintage industrial with mid-century classics." Letteron also features a rotating mix of local artists and has added clothing to the mix with cult jean designer Anne Johnston Albert of Martin fame who sells her line here (being a local herself).
