Contrary to what many people think, the main reason for DIY is not always about saving money. It's that tremendous feeling of satisfaction derived from making something beautiful and functional all by yourself (and knowing you've saved money by doing that, ha). Since you've today all to yourself, why not get your fingers working?

Today we look at a really minimalistic wine rack made of out nothing more than a wood plank. The material is inexpensive but the final product is really gorgeous. To make the wine rack you’ll need a drill press with a 1.25″ Forstner bit and some sandpaper to finish it. Simple L-brackets or pelican brackets, which are widely available, will hold the plank in place on the wall. Link
