The products recognized were:“Tonale” Table Set by David Chipperfield (2009), “Try it Trivet” by Dror Benshetrit (2009), “Essentiel de Pâtisserie” Cake Plate by matali crasset (2010), “La Via Lattea” Cheese Knives by Anna and Gian Franco Gasparini (2009), and “La Stanza dello Scirocco” basket by Mario Trimarchi (2009). Now in its 60th year, the Museum’s historic GOOD DESIGN program was founded in Chicago in 1950, and remains the oldest and most recognized program for design excellence worldwide. In November, the judges met in New York and selected over 500 product designs and graphics from over 36 nations based on innovation, form, materials and construction, concept, function, utility, and aesthetic appeal. The Alessi products will be featured with other award recipients on the Chicago Athenaeum website.
