Designing for friends can actually be a very good way to find out more about them. I recently offered my help to a long-time friend of mine to do up her new DBSS (Design, Build & Sell Scheme) apartment at Bishan's Natura Loft. The short one month period allowed me to understand a lot about her likings, tastes and lifestyle - much more so than during these years that I've known her!

Seeking to bring attention to the picturesque city skyline outside the house, I had proposed her to keep to a light, 'airy' feel within the home. A minimalistic one that would not draw too much attention to itself, but with enough patterned and textured elements to keep the look interesting. After all, the skyline is one massive, eye catching artwork inside the house, if you get what I mean!
Every lady needs her dose of Damask, and she gets it here in her own bedroom. Other than this, the design of the room retained the simple, light feel in the other parts of the house.
