A while back we posted on Babylonstoren in South Africa, a resort in the Cape Winelands outside Franschhoek designed by former SA Elle Decor editor Karen Roos. We're also fans of the hotel's Babel Restaurant, especially the vegetable-based table decor (we've been following suit and adorning our tables with radishes, fennel fronds, pots of herbs). With this approach, who needs flowers? Above: The airy interior features Plexiglass dining chairs mixed with rustic wood benches and farm tables. Above: A deep green leafy cabbage undergoes a bath. Above: Beet greens stand in for traditional floral arrangements. Above: A variety of garden herbs in pressed-glass vases. Above: A cabbage sliced in half makes a compelling centerpiece. Above: Consider the cabbage, also the artichoke. Photos via Africa Bespoke and Flickr.
