Vincent L. Michael—preservationist, historian, teacher and the most knowledgeable person I know about architect Francis Barry Byrne—recently wrote an amazing article on Byrne and Alfonso Iannelli for the December 2010 issue of the Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians. Titled "Expressing the Modern: Barry Byrne in 1920s Europe," the article highlights the half-century partnership between Byrne and Iannelli and details their 1924 visit to the French, German, and Dutch modernists.
