Fire Shelter: 01 is a small pavilion in Sydhavnstippen–a nature preserve in the southern part of Copenhagen–that was designed and built by SHJWorks. The starting point for the design emerged from the location, which is a former sea bed that was filled in with building materials between 1945 and 1973. The different elements of the structure were produced using novel digital fabrication techniques. The shelter has public access, and it takes inspiration from architecture of ethnic and nomadic people.
