The spare yet evocative interiors of Anthem Cafe & Bar in Japan were designed by Tokyo-based Tamiser Antiques (profiled yesterday on Remodelista). Stacks of vintage magazines, tin cans filled with beach stones, and simple, rough-hewn furniture comprise the decor. Located on the fourth floor of a traditional wood building, the space also serves as a venue for Baroque concerts (lute, harpsichord, gamba, violin); the menu includes pesticide-free vegetables grown in the Hyogo Prefecture. "I'm looking for housing that is affordable, and modern. I know there must be innovative, well-designed housing out there. I just can't seem to find it!" —Tracey R., from the Dwell discussion board
