The artist Ron Crepeau (the Arktist) is building a 3500sf “ark” on his property, Art Oasis, in the remote Southern California desert, using eight 40′ shipping containers, and he is doing all of the work himself. It is his home and studio, and is built around a 700sf inner courtyard. Granted, the architectural style, Pueblo Adobe, isn’t to my own personal taste, but I deeply admire his spirit and determination. Just goes to show, you can do it, and when there’s a will, there’s a way. Below are just two of Crepeau’s videos and the floorplan, from his website/blog. Amazing.
