Steal This Look: Elizabeth Roberts Brooklyn Bath
Average Rating: ( 0 votes)
We recently featured New York-based designer Elizabeth Roberts' renovated brownstone (see House Call: Elizabeth Roberts in Brooklyn ) and were taken with her ability to seamlessly mix high and low elements. In her master bath, she deftly does the same. Her intent was to make the space feel as spacious and open as possible. Achieve a similar look with the following elements. Above: Roberts installed a Porcher Marc Newson Pedestal Lavatory Top Sink . Alas, the sink is no longer available, but for something similar try Duravit's Happy D Washbasin with Pedestal ; $528.73 available from Plumber Surplus. The Duravit Happy D Wall Mounted Toilet is $448 from Every Faucet. Above: The bathroom is painted in Benjamin Moore's Decorator's Whites with eggshell finish ( photo via House Beautiful ). Above: Roberts tiled the walls in matte white 3-by-6-inch Ceramic Tile from Daltile with white grout. Above L: The basic Porcelain Lampholder is $2.58 from Amazon. Above R: The Leviton Porcelain Keyless Fixture is $5.30 at Amazon. Above: The simple mirrored cabinet above the sink is a Broan Nu-Tone Metro Oversize Medicine Cabinet (without the beveled edge) for $227.02 from Fixture Universe. Roberts specified a shelf niche below the cabinet for extra storage space. Above: The sink is paired with a Speakman faucet. "Speakman faucets are designed for institutional use, which means they can stand up to a lot of abuse," Roberts says. The Speakman SC-3001 LD Commander Faucet with ceramic cartridges and cross handles is $126.56 from CSN Stores. Above: Roberts also used Speakman in the shower, specifically the Speakman SC-1131-AF Commander Two-Valve Shower with Four-Arm Handles is $182.70 at Every Faucet. Above: For similar wood towel bars, Signature Hardware offers the Teak Wood Towel Bar for $34.95. Above: Roberts discovered Thomas Hoof on Remodelista and ordered his porcelain Toilet Roll Holder (as well as other Hoof fixtures); available from THPG for €21. Above: To protect the original 1860s wood window frame in the shower area, Roberts installed a simple white, spring-loaded Ore Shower Curtain Rail ($7.99) and hung a pair of Saltgrund Shower Curtains ($12.99); both from Ikea. Above: For the floors, Roberts used 1-by-2-inch statuary honed Thasso s Marble Tiles with gray grout ("it hides dirt better," she says). Find a selection of marble at Thassos.com or at the Glass Tile Company .
