Here's a simple idea for making a set of wooden bead trivets, via Jennifer Hagler of A Merry Mishap (for detailed instructions on how to make the trivets, go to A Merry Mishap) . Above: To source the 1-inch Unfinished Round Wood Beads , go to Crafts Parts; for a spool of Tandy Leather Cord ($7.26), go to Amazon. Above: Hagler coated the medium-sized ring of beads with olive oil to create a contrasting finish. Above: The beads can be grouped into a single trivet or used individually.
