More after the jump...

Janet writes:

"The Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy had partnered with the Madison Trust for Historic Preservation, the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Wright in Wisconsin in a joint letter urging the city to authorize that committee. The coalition of the four organizations has been coordinating efforts regarding the Lamp House for several weeks. Although the Lamp House is not directly  threatened with demolition and the current proposals are not as all-engulfing as the mega-buildings that were proposed a few years ago, the risks of dwarfing  the house and its site in the shadows of much larger buildings remain. Representatives of the coalition will continue to provide information to the special committee and urge the city to consider how sensitive development can protect the house and appropriately preserve one of Madison’s special cultural assets."

Thanks for the update Janet. I also want to thank PrairieMod readers Michael B. and Jack H. for also keeping us up-to-date with the preservation activities surrounding the Lamp House. If you want to help support the efforts to protect and save Wright's built legacy, then join the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy here.
