Even though preservationists have been celebrating the announcement that a buyer has been found for the embattled David Wright house in Phoenix, this recent New York Times article reminds us that the deal is not done yet and there are still questions aplenty. Which is why it's still imperative for the November 7, 2012 Phoenix City Council vote to designate the home a historic landmark. As Janet Halstead, executive director of the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy, is quoted in the NYT article as saying: “We won’t know if the house will be saved from the threat of demolition and irresponsible development until we know the intentions of the new owners.” Read more here.
