Magerstadt house

This house is considered one of the jewels of the neighborhood and is currently for sale for $2.2 million dollars. It had sold previously in 2010 in a private transaction without even going on the market. It's been through an extensive renovation and now awaits another set of new owners.

I'm not clear at what point this original furniture was separated from the home, but like many Prairie School-era designs, Maher created all aspects of a house (including furnishings) to work in unison--so this table and chairs is one small part of a larger artistic whole. It really belongs back with its intended home, if possible.

It's unlikely the game table and chairs will find its way back, but perhaps there are stewards out there waiting to take-up the responsibility of caring for both the Magerstadt House and its original furnishings. See the listing for the house here and the electronic auction catalog here.
