Noticed lately: kitchens with mirrored (or stainless) surfaces, good for adding light to otherwise dark spaces. Above: Templeton Architecture used burnished glass tile backsplashes in this South Yarra, Victoria, residence. Above: Brushed stainless steel penny round tiles as backsplash, via Floorology . Above: New York architect David Hotson adds a note of glamor to a NYC kitchen, improbably mixing a silver Bisazza backdrop with a table and chairs by Maya Lin. Above: Burnished stainless countertops and backsplash reflect light in Annaleena Karlsson's kitchen; see more at House Call: Annaleena's Swedish Kitchen . Above: A glimmery kitchen island from the portfolio of photographer Pia Ulin . N.B. See more than 300 images of interiors featuring silvery accents in our Gallery .
