Bookends are doing the disappearing act nowadays, it seems.
We've seen many variations of bookends designed to be invisible, but this one really gets our two thumbs up. Designed by Paul Cocksdge, this is as much a visual treat as it is a piece of functional object, allowing one to display books - seemingly - without any form of support on ends. Link
